Diamond Dental Software includes a sophisticated digital imaging capability that acquires images from digital cameras, scanners, and intra-oral cameras, as discussed in the section on Digital Imaging. However, the program does not acquire images directly from digital X-ray sensors.
To include digital X-ray capability, Diamond Dental Software integrates with many digital X-ray programs through the means of a software bridge. This bridge allows the digital X-ray program to be used within Diamond Dental as if it were a module of the program.
How the Bridge Works
On the Posting screen (and other screens) within Diamond Dental, is a Digital Link button. When you click this button it opens the digital X-ray program over the Diamond Dental screen, and the same patient who was currently accessed in Diamond Dental will be accessed in the digital X-ray program. So you will be looking at that patient’s images within the digital X-ray program. If that patient had not previously been accessed in the digital X-ray program, a record will be created for that patient.
Once you are in the digital X-ray program, you use it to import digital X-rays and whatever other functions you want within that program’s capabilities. When you are finished with the digital X-ray program, you simply close it, and you are still in the Diamond Dental program, right where you left it.
Our extensive list of digital X-ray programs that we bridge to is seen below and we are always eager to add more when the digital X-ray program is compatible.
