The Subscriber Name Entry Shortcut
When the Insurance Subscriber screen opens the cursor will be blinking in the First Name field, waiting for your entry. If the subscriber’s name is the same as the responsible party (whom you have already entered), just press the letter “S” for same, and press Tab. The responsible party’s first name, middle initial, last name, senior/junior designation, and title (Mr. Mrs., Ms., etc.) will be pasted from the responsible party’s record into the Insurance Subscriber screen for you. The cursor will then jump to the Birthday field.
Subscriber Address
Whatever address that was entered for the Responsible Party will automatically be entered for the subscriber. If the address is the same then tab past it to the next item. It is possible that the subscriber is not the same person as the Responsible Party and may even have a different home address. If this is the case you can give the subscriber his or her own unique address.
Fee Schedule
The Fee Schedule selected from the Insurance Subscriber screen will be the fee that is used when posting any patient who has this subscriber as their primary subscriber.
Procedure Code
There are two possible procedure codes that can be used when posting procedures in Diamond Dental Software. Code #1 comes with the program and is the American Dental Association procedure codes as published by the ADA. Code #2 is optional and would be entered by you if you have a need for a second code. For example, some state welfare agencies may require a special procedure code, and if this is the case, you may enter these alternate codes through the Procedure Table Entry screen. If patients using this subscriber’s insurance require the alternate procedure code to print used for insurance processing, select “2” for this option.
Selecting the Insurance Subscriber’s Employer
Employers are stored in the Employer table. Many Insurance Subscribers can be linked to the same Employer. To select this subscriber’s employer, click the Employer Detail (magnifying glass) button to open Employer Search screen. On this screen you will enter the first few letters of the employers name in the Employer Search Criteria field. Then click the Display button. All the employers that begin with those letters will display. If you see the subscriber’s employer listed, simply click it to select it. If it is not listed, that means it has not yet been entered into the system. To enter it, click the New button. This will bring up the Employer Entry screen. Enter the Employer’s information and then click the Select button to select that employer for this subscriber. You will be brought back to the Insurance Subscriber screen and the employer will be displayed in the Employer field. |
