Diamond Dental Software integrates with National Electronic Attachment’s (NEA) FastAttach program. FastAttach enables you to transmit attachments in support of electronic claims to insurance carriers via the Internet. Attachments can include x-rays, perio charts, intraoral pictures, EOB's, Lab Reports, etc. Attachment mail time is reduced to seconds. This reduces the amount of time it takes to receive claim consideration from payors. Additionally, you reduce direct costs such as supplies and postage.

Setting Up Your Carriers
Before utilizing FastAttach you must select an NEA Payor Number for each of your insurance carriers. When you install the FastAttach software you will be able to download the latest NEA Payors list from NEA. Once the list is on your computer you can import it into Diamond Dental Software by clicking the Update NEA Payors button on the Carrier Entry screen. Each carrier that NEA sends attachments to must be assigned an NEA Payor ID number.

Integrating Attachments With Electronic Claims
Diamond Dental Software will integrate your attachments with your electronic claims to Emdeon. We will now present a quick tutorial.

Selecting The NEA Attachments Button
Go to Print Insurance as you usually do. The Insurance Form Parameters screen will be displayed. If this is going to be an electronic claim, that choice should be selected in the upper right drop down list labeled Form To Print. If you are going to send an electronic attachment along with this claim, click the NEA Attachment button (seen in the middle of the screen). This will open the NEA Provider Detail screen. If the insurance carrier for this patient has not been designated with an NEA Payor Number you will not be allowed to proceed with the attachment.

NEA Provider Detail
The NEA Provider Detail screen displays the notes about the carrier and their requirements that are stored in the NEA Payors list. This screen is used as a gateway to three different methods of implementing electronic attachments. These will now be discussed.
