Link Images Later
The NEA Provider Detail screen had three options: Link Images Now (previously discussed), NEA Only (discussed shortly), and Link Images Later. Select Link Images Later if the images for the attachment are not stored within the Diamond Dental Software Program. In this case only the data portion of the attachment will be sent to the NEA holding directory. When you are ready for the actual transmission and open the FastAttach software, you will acquire the necessary images using the acquisition tools of the FastAttach software.

NEA Only (no eClaim)
This is the third option of the NEA Provider Detail screen. Use this choice if an electronic claim is NOT being sent with this attachment. This may be a common occurrence. For example, use this choice if an insurance carrier requests x-rays after having received your claim. The process will be identical to that described above for the Link Images Now option. You will go into the Insurance Form Printing screen for the sole purpose of clicking the NEA Attachment button. This will bring up the NEA Provider Detail screen from which you will click the NEA Only button. This will once again open the NEA Image Attachment Selection screen for you to select the needed images. Once you select the images the program will send these images and necessary patient data to the NEA holding directory and the screen will close. You will be back at the Insurance Form Printing screen. Once here, simply exit, do not click Print. Your attachment is ready to go, once you access the FastAttach program.

Back At The Insurance Form Printing Screen
Once you are back at the Insurance Form Printing screen you will proceed with finishing your electronic claim procedure. When you are ready, click the Print button to send the electronic claim into its holding table. For a complete discussion on this subject see the section on Electronic Insurance Claim Processing. If you are using the option of NEA Only and not creating a claim, simply click Exit.

Transmitting Your Attachments
IMPORTANT - ALWAYS Transmit Attachments BEFORE Transmitting Electronic Claims.
Please follow the cardinal rule above. If you send the electronic claim first, the insurance examiner might get right to it. If he or she sees the claim has an attachment and goes to access that attachment, and finds that it is not there, the claim will be rejected. This problem can be prevented by simply always sending the attachments before sending the claims.

When the FastAttach Main Screen opens you will see listed the attachments that you previously prepared. Simply click Send (lightning bolt) and the transmission will commence. If you had selected the Link Image Later option or wish to add additional images to an attachment, double click on the patient’s name. The FastAttach Data Entry Screen will then display. Click on Acquire Method and acquire your additional images. Once you have gotten your additional images click Save and you will be returned to the FastAttach Main Screen. From there, begin your transmission.
