View Recall Printing Parameters screen.

Printing recall is a vital part of any successful dental practice. Only patients who previously had recall set will be considered for recall printing. Setting Recall was discussed in another section. To print recall, click on the Print Recall button from the Main Menu. This will open the Recall Printing Parameters screen. In Recall Printing, the Diamond Dental Software will find the patients who are due for recall and then print recall for them in some manner. Recall printing may take the form of post cards, mailing labels, the Recall Phone Report, or the creation of a merge file that can be integrated with Microsoft Word for recall letter printing.

Recall Printing Parameters Screen
The Recall Printing Parameters screen is used to set the qualifications for patients who will be considered for recall printing. The screen contains numerous options and these will now be discussed.

Multiple/Single Patient Recall
You may print Multiple Patient Recall or Single Patient Recall. The most common setting for this option is the Multiple Patient Recall. When it is selected you may enter an alphabetic range. The default range is From A To Z. If you select Single Patient Recall, the familiar Patient Search screen will open for you to select a patient. Most of the qualifying options discussed below will not apply if you select Single Patient Recall. You may print a recall for a single patient, regardless of the qualifications, as long as the patient does have recall set.

Qualifying Date
With the Qualifying Date, you inform the program from which date to start considering patients qualified for recall printing. Patients with recall dates up to and including this date will be considered for printing. Patients with recall dates set beyond this date will not be considered at this printing session.

Repeat Mailing Period
The program remembers when a particular patient was sent his or her last recall. With the Repeat Mailing Period entry, you inform the program of a minimum number of days that must pass before a patient who has not responded to the last recall may be sent a follow up recall. To illustrate the Repeat Mailing Period's usefulness, consider this example. Suppose you want to send recall every 30 days, because every 30 days, quite a few patients become qualified for recall. However, for patients who do not respond, you may not wish to send them follow up recall cards at that frequent of an interval. You may instead want them to receive follow up recall cards every other month. The procedure you would follow would be to run the recall printing every 30 days (or once a month). In that way you will catch the first time recall people every month. However, you will designate the Repeat Mailing Period to be some number of days greater than 30, for instance 45. In this way, patients who have not responded will not be sent a follow up recall 30 days after their first recall, because 45 days has not gone by since their last mailing. So they will be skipped on this next recall mailing. However, on the following month, more than 45 days has gone by so they will be qualified for a repeat mailing (assuming they have not responded in the intervening time).
